Reporting party and landowner information, conflict location, and other details are inserted into this table by IDFG staff <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;">IDFG categorizes wildlife-human conflicts based on human injury and the behavior of thewildlife involved (see attached chart). IDFG will provide guidelines to its personnel foraddressing situations involving human injuries or fatalities caused by wildlife attacks onlivestock and domestic animals, and nuisance behavior.For incidents involving serious bodily injury or death of a person, the Wildlife-HumanAttack Response Team (WHART) will be activated and respond consistent with WHARTGuidelines and Procedures. The WHART’s responsibilities include acting to protect thesafety of the public and incident responders; attempting to identify, locate, and control theanimal(s) involved in the incident; and conducting, documenting and reporting investigativefindings.IDFG’s intent is to provide timely and appropriate response to wildlife-human conflicts,particularly attacks on humans, human safety threats, and loss of domestic animals. IDFGmay take appropriate measures to control wildlife, up to and including lethal control, insuch situations. Control measures will be conducted as safely and humanely aspracticable under the circumstances.
