This data set provides several physical characteristics of the underlining geology and bedrock broken out into subsections.
Supplemental Information:
Theme ID: 459 Theme Group: PHYSIOGRAPHIC GROUPTheme Abbreviation: PHYSBSECThis is the version of the map as used by the Project. June 1, 2000: Updated missing values in the SSGRP_39 attribute from look-up table. For subsect M332Add, ssgrp_39 = M33207; for subsect 341Ea and 341Eb, ssgrp_39 = 33101.These data have been revised since they were used by the ICBEMP. Attribute Accuracy:
Attribute Accuracy Report:
Topology and attributes for this theme were manually checked by comparing plots of the processed data against original materials. Attribute accuracy information for source materials were not collected since acquisition of source data pre-dated FGDC metadata standards.
Logical Consistency Report: Polygon and Arc-node topology existsCompleteness Report:
This map is the result of an interagency cooperative effort involving the U.S. Forest Service, Soil Conservation Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Geological Survey. The project coordinators were John Nesser and Gary Ford, U.S. Forest Service. The GIS team consisted of Jim Menakis and Donald Long, USFS Intermountain Fire Sciences Lab, Missoula, MT. Subsections are based on broad geologic, climatic, and landform characteristics. They were originally mapped at a scale of 1:500,000 and are intended for broad landscape characterization and not for detailed interpretations. From 1:500,000 plots with Bailey's ecomap sections, further delineations were made.
